
The Multicultural Health Institute Project: CBNA
A CBNA (Community Based Needs Assessment) was performed by MHI in Newtown, FL which culminated in a health disparities conference at the Booker High School and accomplished the following:
. Defined multiple areas in need of improvement
. Endeavored to address and remedy various inequities in health and educational status of the residents
. Helped form the Newtown Health Advisory Council and subsequent Newtown CHAT (Community Health Action Team)
. Led the way to disseminate Silence is Death Initiative through the HIV AIDS network of SW Florida
. Became active partners with the Project Unity in Faith HIV/AIDS initiative funded by the Sarasota Health Department
